Learn how to use Bohemicus with Crowdin

I am going to show you how you can very effectively use Bohemicus with the online CAT tool called Crowdin.

How does Bohemicus work with the Crowdin online CAT tool?

Bohemicus runs in the background, completely minimized to the taskbar. Once you need any of its functions, you can simply press a hotkey combination and it will deliver its results directly into Crowdin.

Let’s take a look at 3 examples of how Bohemicus can help you in Crowdin:

1. Machine Translation

You can take advantage of DeepL / Google / ModernMT or MyMemory as machine translations providers and deliver their results into Crowdin by simply opening a segment in Crowdin and pressing Ctrl+Space (or Ctrl+Alt+Space on selected text if you only wish to translate a portion of text).

Your source segment will be retrieved from Crowdin, translated behind the scenes by Bohemicus, and then re-inserted back into Crowdin.

It’s as simple as that. You might watch the video at the end of this article to see it in action.

If you wish to use Bohemicus for the machine translation feature, you will need to set up your source and target languages, machine translation provider and the copy-source-to target keyboard combo (see the Language&Settings/CAT Tool tab in Bohemicus).

2. Speech-to-text (dictation)

Using Bohemicus, you can take advantage of the excellent Google speech-to-text engine to dictate your texts into Crowdin.

Simply download and install the Bohemicus for Android app from Google Play, connect it with your PC via Bluetooth, and start dictating your texts into Crowdin! Over 100 languages are supported.

One of them is the quick search of selected term or phrase in your own translation memories, dictionaries and termbases. You can simply select a term or phrase in Crowdin and press the Ctrl+Alt+K hotkey combo to quickly look up the selected term in your connected memories, termbase and dictionaries.

You can very quickly search for selected terms in your termbase, connected translation memories and in dictionaries.
